on days like these, when there is absolutely nothing to do, your mind starts to wander. what will the future be like? what will my future be like? suddenly, i feel very goal-less. no goals or aims in life, just happy to get by. argh. people ask me if i plan to be a lawyer. i will always reply with, "i hope to be one!". but seriously thinking about it, i don't know where i'm heading. it's like i'm treating my life lightly and nonchalantly. if this way works, i'll try it. if it fails, then i can always try other. this kind of attitude. i know i will graduate with a diploma at the end of my polytechnic education. but after that? i sincerely hope to get into a local university so as to save my parents a whole lot of money. but if i can't, which is quite likely due to my current results and the constant competition in singapore, then i shall just go overseas. and although i want to further my education by doing a law degree, i think the only reason why i want to do that is not because i want to be a practising lawyer, but because i know that having a law degree opens up to more job opportunities. i'm looking towards the job opportunities, rather than the main job scope. so actually, i don't exactly hope to be a lawyer. =\ i don't know, but right now, i'm just feeling very blah. how terrible. no motivation, no determination. thank God it's the holidays and not my exam week or something. oh well, ultimately, God has a purpose for me. there's no use worrying about the future because He will take care of it. (: sounds so model-answer, but i know it's true and it takes faith and trust to hold on to that. right now, i feel like doing something that is seemingly intelligent. haha like read a book or watch an intelligent movie, if there's even such a thing. i miss reading books. because of the boring work schedule i have, i managed to read dan brown's deception point twice and im reading robyn sisman's perfect strangers again. hahaha i feel like reading all 6 harry potter books all over again. i have forgotten how many times i read them. countless, i guess. but surprisingly, i never get bored of them. i love reading books, i'm sure you can tell. (: haha but when it comes to law books, that's a different story all together. oh yes, and the Bible. =\ actually, maybe i should start reading the Bible. it was my resolution at the start of this year to finish reading the Bible by the end of the year. i was doing well in january, then you know how you always get distracted and all. sigh, not a good excuse at all. guilty. okay, i found another book to read after perfect strangers. (: and about movies, i came across screenshots of amelie at amanda's blog, and they were absolutely pretty. so picturesque and french. haha it is a french movie after all. okay, i shall drop by video ezy one day to borrow that. (: yay, suddenly i feel very accomplished. for the wrong things. can't wait for lunch with maineey! :D |
