i realised that a single verse does not stand alone. it is to be read with the verses found either before it, or after it. only then can you get the whole message that God is trying to bring across. how amazing and wonderful is that. (: today, i led the last youth worship. i really thank God that i was given this opportunity to serve Him. i still remember joining the team 2 years ago. i felt quite useless then, in a sense, because all i could do was lead worship. i couldn't play any musical instrument and i was seriously wondering, how am i going to serve the Lord in this manner? thank God that He made me see that i could serve Him in many ways, other than this. slowly as i progressed and got ready to lead my first worship service, i learnt that worship is not so much about us, the people present at the service. worship is about God and He is the one that really matters. this year, as i led my second service, i learnt that worship is not only about singing songs or praises to God, but also about hearing His word and growing from it. i also learnt that the worship team was not supposed to be the main focus of the whole service, but rather, we are to help people present at the service to focus on God. and today, as i led my third, i learnt that we are to worship Him in spirit and in truth. John 4:23-24. i have grown and learnt a lot in those 2 years. although there wont be any more yw services, the yw team will still continue to exist. and i really thank God for that. i see the end of yw as a positive thing. i chose to sing "i don't know about tomorrow" as the closing song today and i think it really spoke to a lot of people. we might not know what lies ahead, it might be positive to some, negative to others, but we can take comfort that God knows the future and He is holding our hands, guiding us through. (: today, by far, was the most fulfilling and meaningful day of my life. - no guilt in life, no fear in death this is the power of Christ in me from life's first cry to final breath Jesus commands my destiny no power of hell, no scheme of man can ever pluck me from His hand till He returns or calls me home here in the power of Christ i'll stand |
