blessed birthday to sarah and clarissa! (: thank God that my family law presentation went well! (: and a huge thank you to pearl, rachel and serena! you three have been wonderful team mates and i really enjoyed working with you! (: meetings were so much fun and i actually enjoyed them! haha hug! supposed to stay up and do my OB article analysis, but i'm too tired. i have been sleeping at 1am every day this week, and ugly eyebags are showing up! yucks. :( doing homework late at night can get really boring and lonely, so i'm glad i had people who stayed up to talk to online. (: anyway, i had a really interesting conversation with a taxi driver today. as i have said before, i always have interesting conversations with taxi drivers. first, we were talking about my diploma and how he didnt know that temasek poly or polytechnics, for that matter, offer a diploma on law. taxi drivers always have a lot to say about anything and everything, so he continued by telling me about his friend's daughter who studied law in the US and how much she was earning. then suddenly, out of nowhere, he asked if i was a christian. it was weird because it was totally random and a little off-topic. i was so tempted to ask him how he knew or at least had a feeling that i was one. he also asked which church i was from, so i told him and he started telling me about the politics in a church he used to attend. it's really sad because he has stopped going to church. i suspect it's due to the politics he witnessed and experienced in that church, but i didn't dare confirm with him because i didn't want to venture into something which can be quite private. then our conversation went on to touch on how different religions and even different denominations of christianity think that their doctrines are the true and correct one. he asked for my opinion and i told him that this is really weird because this topic is something that i have been struggling with! it's as if God sent the taxi driver to speak to me about it! well, the driver told me his opinion, and although i don't entirely agree with what he said, i think the more important thing i have realised is that God is trying to speak to me and that i'm not the only one who is struggling with this. there are people out there who are equally concerned! (: God speaks to us in unusual and interesting ways! i'm glad that He is present and becoming more real to me. (: the verse below is something i read in the daily bread. i'm happy that God is directing and leading the way, making sure i'm safe and don't get lost. (: a man's heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps. - Proverbs 16:9 |
