Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. - Matthew 22:37 ruth explained this verse yesterday and it really spoke to me. we should not just love the Lord literally, with our hearts, souls and minds, but to love Him with our feelings and emotions, with our inner being and spirit and with our thoughts. when we truly love someone, we think about that person, we care about him/her, we want to show our concern etc. love is so much more than simply saying the three words. if we really love God, we would be thinking about Him everyday and wanting to live a life that shows our love for Him. this is the first and great commandment and suddenly, everything just falls into place. we have to love God first. by loving Him, only then are we able to show others His love and love other people. and with love, comes trust, obedience and faith. when we love God, we also trust, obey and have faith in Him in every circumstance. (: and slowly, fruits of the spirit will start to grow! it's wonderful how His Word helps us to grow in His likeness and makes us see His goodness and love! (: i was basically trying to get back into the routine of doing tutorials last week. i can't say i succeeded but i guess i'm halfway there. (: managed to watch spiderman 3 on tuesday with the yfers and meet up with alex on thursday before he left for the US though! they served as breathers from my packed school schedule. (: the next few weeks are going to keep me quite busy, but i'm not complaining. i like how time flies when you are busy and you have no time to care about unnecessary things. and before you know it, june is here and off i go to perth! (: but till then, there are still 24 days left in may. |
