there were plenty of opportunities for me to grumble and complain today but thank God for helping me change all that into positive thoughts! (: for example, i was rushing out of the house this morning and my mum kept nagging at me to bring an umbrella because she thought it was going to rain. my bag was stuffed to the max and i spent 5 mins quarrelling with her about the umbrella. in the end, i brought it along. i was initially very irritated but after a while, i knew that my mum only meant well and i would be really thankful for the umbrella if it rained later. (but it didn't rain! at all! oh well. haha.) first day at work today was surprisingly quite fun. (: although aqilah and i initially did not have any work to do, which resulted in us walking all the way to the High Court to attend a court hearing, we were given more after lunch. (: lunch was at lau pa sat with some of the raffles place law people! very enjoyable! i hope there will be more opportunities to meet up! (: after that, we read through correspondence and cause paper files to prepare for taxation for 2 hours (by then, i was hungry again.) and i was given some research work to complete. the pace was relatively relaxed, not too busy and not too free as well. (: i'm actually looking forward to work now. but we shall see if this enthusiasm stays for the next few weeks. oh and we got our results back! i feel really guilty for being unhappy about my results at first. but after staring it for a long while and reflecting, i realised that God has blessed me in more ways than i can imagine. as usual, i was looking at the obvious disappointments and did not stop to think if i actually deserved all the good grades i got. overall, my gpa increased and i scored better than i expected in three out of the four subjects. (: and my parents are happy! so what more can i ask for? (: God is good! all the time! anyway, i'm meeting my favourite people for dinner tomorrow! so excited! and there's going to be a lawyers' tea at the law firm tomorrow! it takes place every thursday! how cool is that! (: |
